The young bridesmaids, what they wore up the aisle

The young bridesmaids looked beautiful when Maid of Honour Pippa Middleton led them into Westminster Abbey.
The girls wore ivory frocks by bespoke childrenswear designer Nicki Macfarlane and her daughter Charlotte, reports say.
The ballerina length dresses had pleated skirts, puffed sleeves and gold sashes, which St James’s Palace is reporting are made of gold wild silk, says the Mail.
The Mail also reports that the “Mary Jane style shoes,” adorned with Swarovski crystal buckles, were from the Devon-based Rainbow Club.

And, “The bridesmaids’ bouquets by Shane Connolly used flowers from the bride’s bouquet, including lily-of-the-valley, sweet William and hyacinth.”

The hair wreaths that provided a finishing touch to the girls’ outfits were made from lily-of-the-valley, which, reports say, were inspired by the head-dress worn by Kate’s mother at her own wedding.
The fabrics used were the same as used for the brides dress:

“The full, box pleated skirt was used to add a sculptural quality, with the layering of ivory over white satin gazar adding depth of colour. The dresses were hand-finished with delicate English Cluny lace, visible under the skirts, and four layers of net underskirt. The puff sleeves and neckline were trimmed with the same English lace as the bride’s underskirt, while the backs were finished with the same button detail,” reports the Mail.

Each girl had their name and the date sewn into the lining of her dress, reports say.

On another note, Grace Van Cutsem, the goddaughter of Prince William wasn’t too impressed by the roars of the crowd when William kissed Kate  on the balcony:

Look at her face in the picture below— She’s the one with her hands over her ears and the angry look on her face.Reports say she was overwhelmed by the situation— and who wouldn’t be!

The balcony Kiss(es): ‘Kiss her again!’ the crowd yelled to Wills

After photos inside Buckingham Palace, the Prince and Kate walked onto the balcony to wave at the crowd and share a traditional kiss.

William kissed his new bride, but it was bit too quick for the crowds liking. They weren’t satisfied and began to chant “Kiss her again!”

Shortly after, William gave Kate a kiss that was even more heartfelt, and slightly more lingering.

The crowd was immensely pleased with this second attempt.

Then, there was the traditional fly-by of vintage and modern planes from Britain’s Royal Air Force.

Kate’s ‘SO happy’ she tells Prince William in State Landau carriage

I teared up a bit when Prince William walked with Kate out to the 1902 State Landau carriage— because, if you are good at lip-reading, you probably noticed the first words she said to her now husband were “I’m SO happy.” Then the carriage began moving along the Processional Route to Buckingham Palace.

The future Queen looked ‘BEAUTIFUL’ in McQueen

It was one of the most romantic moments in history when Kate Middleton walked up the aisle to meet her prince.

And the first words William said to her?

“You look beautiful.”

The new Duchess of Cambridge dawned a V-neck creation with a long-sleeved lace overlay, designed by McQueen creative director Sarah Burton.

Trailing behind her? A two-meter, 70-centimeter train.

“The dress was composed of French Chantilly lace and English Cluny lace throughout the bodice, skirt and underskirt. The skirt, made of ivory and white satin gazar, was designed to emulate an opening flower: padded at the hips, it flowed out to the floor. The back of the dress was finished with 58 gazar and organza covered buttons fastened by Rouleau loops,” reports PEOPLE,

As was customary, her ivory silk tulle veil trimmed with hand-embroidered flowers, was worn covering her face until she reached the alter.

Kate wore hair down, in a wave of cascading curls.

The bride’s  look was capped by a Cartier ‘halo’ tiara, lent to her by the Queen.

“It has been the experience of a lifetime to work with Catherine Middleton to create her wedding dress, and I have enjoyed every moment of it,” Burton said in a statement, reports PEOPLE.

“It was such an incredible honour to be asked, and I am so proud of what we and the Alexander McQueen team have created. I am delighted that the dress represents the best of British craftsmanship.”

Burton, who doesn’t plan to comment further, added, “The last few months have been very exciting and an incredible experience for my team and I as we have worked closely with Catherine to create this dress under conditions of the strictest secrecy. Catherine looked absolutely stunning today … and I wish TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge every good wish for the future.”

Kate Middleton will do her own makeup for royal wedding

Rumours have been circulating for quite a while that Kate Middleton will do her own makeup for her wedding day. The whispers are true, PEOPLE reports.

The bride has opted to do her own makeup after a series of private lessons with London makeup artist Arabella Preston, wedding planner Mark Niemierko tells PEOPLE.

“I heard that Arabella Preston was called in by a mutual friend of hers and Kate’s,” he says.

“She’s had about three or four lessons with Kate at her private flat in Chelsea and has also gone, very privately to Clarence House. Arabella was suppose to be coming on the day as well but now she isn’t, because Kate’s comfortable and confident in doing it herself.”

And, this isn’t the first time Kate has done her own makeup for a royal event. She was reportedly unhappy with the professional job done for her engagement photos and wiped it off before redoing it herself.

“The practice will also come in handy for the future,” Says Niemierko to PEOPLE.

“The royals obviously do their own makeup for royal engagements. Part of the whole protocol of learning to be royal is learning how to do your own makeup!”

“I hope I’m not too nervous tomorrow,” said William to PEOPLE when asked how he was feeling.

As for his parting words? “Make sure you wave at Charles and Camilla,” he said to the crowd.

Meanwhile, Kate is staying with her sister Pippa over at the Goring Hotel.

A source said to PEOPLE:  “She looked gorgeous, but she definitely looked a bit nervous,” says a source. “She seemed to have the wedding jitters but she seemed so excited. Of course she would be.”
