Reports:Pippa Middleton causes 60 per cent rise in bum-lifting procedures since royal wedding, say British plastic surgeons

While the Duchess of Cambridge is honeymooning with her Duke, the press have been like white on rice when it comes to reporting about Pippa Middleton, whose pert backside stole the spotlight on Kate’s wedding day. The latest talk? How to get a bum like Pippa’s.

According to the Mail ”British plastic surgeons have reported a 60 per cent rise in bum-lifting procedures since the Royal Wedding.”

The procedure, which the Mail reports can cost up to £8,500, has even been given a name, ‘The Pip Package Perfect Posterior’.”

All (well, ok, MOST) women are eager to know what Pippa’s workout regime consists of, so that they too can have a bum worth world-wide envy.

Pippa wasn’t shy about revealing to the press what exactly she does to get her toned physique, so, if you don’t want to resort the the knife, here’s what you can do: “pilates.”

Pippa says she attends classes at a small studio in Parson’s Green near her London apartment, reports the Mail.

In a testimonial on the Pilates On The Go website Pippa even promoted her trainer, Margot Campbell:

“As someone who is always ‘on the go’, Pilates has been a wonderful escape from my busy lifestyle in London.”

“Whether it’s 7am in the morning or 7pm at night I always leave feeling calm, refreshed and invigorated. Over the past few months I have noticed a huge difference in my core strength and posture and couldn’t recommend Margot more highly as an instructor.

“From breathing techniques, muscle toning to overall flexibility and relaxation, my Pilates sessions have become something of a weekly necessity that keeps me fit, happy and energized,” she says.

“While Pilates is a great way to tone,” she admits to the Mail, “ it doesn’t get the heart rate going, so she teams the classes with regular cardio workouts including swimming, jogging, tennis and skiing.”

And, while Pilates is a great way to tone, she says it doesn’t get her heart rate going, so along with the classes she has regular cardio workouts including swimming, jogging, tennis and skiing.

Royal spam: how to sort out the fact from the fiction in royal reporting

As a royal reporter, I love a juicy story as much as the next person, but lately people seem to believe anything they read regarding the royal family.I would like to take a moment to urge anyone who reads the news to pay attention to the sources a writer cites, because this is a good way to judge the validity of a story. It seems like this would be common sense, but you’d be surprised at how many people don’t pay attention to sources and believe everything they read.

So, how do you know if a source is dependable? This is hard. It generally takes an experienced reporter to sort out the fact from the fiction in an article– Or one who knows the subject they are reading about in depth. This is why it is SO important that reporters have connections– the more reliable people who can confirm a story the better. But, for those who aren’t used to sifting through information and don’t have contacts to confirm a story there are a few rules of thumb to follow when reading an article.

I would go through the below checklist when trying to judge the validity of a story:

1)    Who: Who wrote the article and what are his or her credentials? Research the author and look at their publishing history. What subjects do they usually cover? Are they an expert in the field they are discussing? Be wary of any article without an author listed, unless looking at a “known” reliable information source like Thomson Reuters, AP, etc.

2)    Where: Where did the author get his or her information?

3)    When: When was the piece written? You would be surprised at how many readers don’t pay attention to dates.

4)    Why? Why does the resource exist? Is it for entertainment value, does it have a bias? Is it the author’s intention to persuade you of something? Or is it simply delivering information?
