Pippa Middleton is close to signing a lucrative book deal on how to be an ideal party hostess.

The younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge has been talking to  literary agent David Godwin, and has already met with publishing executives at HarperCollins and several other publishing houses.

“There are predictions that she could make more than £1m from royalties and the sale of international rights and spin-off projects,” says the publication,” says the Telegraph.

A well-placed publishing source told the Sunday Times (£): “Pippa is very serious about the project and has been going to meet publishers personally. Pippa hasn’t signed a contract yet but I don’t think it will be far off. She is a good writer but I expect she would be offered the services of an experienced ghost writer.”

The book, which has yet to be titled, will offer a range of advise on how to be the ideal party hostess. Among other topics, it will focus on etiquette, how to decorate a room for a party, what food to serve, and children’s parties.

You might have thought Pippa Middleton fever had cooled down since the royal wedding, but recent numbers suggest otherwise— A reported 1,000 customers are on a waiting list to receive their very own replica of Pippa’s famous royal wedding Alexander McQueen bridesmaid dress by Sarah Burton.

Not everyone can afford the royal price tag on the dress, which is reported to have cost the Miss Middleton £20,000 ($30,912)— so the Pippa dress admirers are in line to receive replicas made by the department store Debenhams—on sale for a more manageable sum of £170($286).

The Duchess is a ‘darling daughter-in-law,’ says Prince Charles

When Prince Charles found himself unable to attend the In Kind Direct charity dinner last week, he asked William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to fill his royal shoes for the night. William was unable to do so, and no one expected Kate to perform a royal duty without him, especially not so soon after the royal wedding.

Robin Boles, In Kind Direct’s chief executive, asked royal reps. if another royal could take the the prince’s place. She was told it would be “highly unlikely.”

With the event in danger of being canceled, the Duchess took pity, and stepped into her first official, solo royal role: “Then I got the call saying the Prince had pulled out all the stops for us and his ‘darling daughter-in-law’ would attend,” said Boles.

Boles told the London Evening Standard:”She was unbelievable. It was as if she had been doing this her whole life. She charmed every person in the room.I took her round and she spoke to everyone. She is as lovely as she is beautiful. She hadn’t known about In Kind Direct but she was already willing to be an advocate for our work.”

A St James’s Palace spokesman said: “The duchess very much enjoyed it and was pleased to be able to help out her father-in-law, who has been particularly supportive of her.”

The Duchess of Cambridge’s Outfit Breakdown

The gown: The Duchess wore a beautiful teal gown, whose designer it was difficult to identify.

As usual Kate pulled something old, but wonderful, out of her closet: The dress was an Amanda Wakeley piece, from the designer’s fall/winter 2006-2007 collection.

“The dress had Grecian lines, featuring brilliant rhinestones on the criss-cross straps, an empire waistline and godets in the skirt,” reports whatkatewore.com.

The bracelet: The Duchess wore a DIAMOND FLOWER CLUSTER ART-DECO BRACELET, as seen on many previous occasions. These include the ‘BAFTA Brits to Watch’ event and Zara Phillips and Mike Tindals wedding.

According to Dianasjewels.net: “The central design is composed of flower clusters (a large diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds) alternating with baguette diamonds.  On either side of the central portion is a line of round diamonds.  This bracelet, with its baguette diamonds match the baguette diamonds on her diamond pendant earrings.”
