Lady Gaga took a page from the Duchess of Cambridge‘s fashion designer favorites book and wore a fantastic Alexander McQueen creation to the Bambi Awards in Germany.

“The frothy Alexander McQueen gown from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection features some heavy-duty gold armor that cascades out into a cream-colored skirt, which Gaga wore with aplomb, although the singer looked like she couldn’t even open her eyelids all the way in the forehead-encroaching gold headpiece,” reports the Huffington Post.

The Daily Mail believes Gaga’s golden armor was inspired by the golden foil-wrapped chocolates often sold in stores, called Ferrero Rocher:”….commentators remarked that her headpiece, which fitted snugly across her skull, looked like a Ferrero Rocher sweet,” reports the Mail, in a piece called

I can’t imagine the duchess ever wearing such quirky but beautiful creation of McQueen’s without being criticized. Luckily, we have Lady Gaga, who can rock some of McQueen’s more outrageous creations.

The Duchess of Cambridge is a huge fan of McQueen looks—not only was Kate’s famous wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, but Kate wore many other looks from the collection this year.

The numbers are in! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have helped raise an astounding £4.2m for a project to improve the National Memorial Arboretum, reports BBC News.

Last night, the couple played host and hostess to a whopping 120 people, at a reception and dinner to raise funds for the arboretum’s £12m appeal.

The event was held at St. James’s Palace, where all of the dining tables were decorated with tiny trees, to be planted at the 150-acre arboretum in Staffordshire.

William, who gave a short, before dinner speech, launched the initiative and became a patron in 2009.

Pippa Middleton and Alex Loudon split, after series of recent rows

Pippa and longtime beau Alex Loudon have parted ways, after a series of rows in recent weeks, reports the Sun.

A source told the Sun: “Pippa tried to get over the split by spending last weekend with Wills and Kate at Balmoral. She and Alex split briefly in the summer — but this time it’s over. They are barely speaking.”

Two months ago, the couple had a very public disagreement at a wedding, the source told the publication: “It was said after the wedding that Alex was jealous of Pippa flirting with Prince Harry. But the truth is she and Harry are just mates.”

Other sources told the Sun, the rows in recent weeks have stemmed from Alex’s inability to deal with Pippa’s new “sex symbol” status.

Friends say she is not in a rush to find a new man.

Will and Kate dazzle at National Memorial Arboretum Appeal dinner

The Duchess of Cambridge looked glamorous and relaxed in an Alice Temperley Grecian-style gown, as she played hostess at a reception and dinner event held at St. James’s Palace tonight.

William was close by his wife’s side, as the cause promoted at the event was one close to his heart; the National Memorial Arboretum Appeal was launched by William in 2009 and he has been a patron since that year. William lost two close friends in Iraq and Afghanistan, so honoring them and others who have fallen for their country is very important to him.

The guests were served a three-course meal at the dinner on tables decorated with tiny trees, to be planted in the 150-acre Staffordshire Arboretum, reports the Mail.

William gave a short speech before the dinner, in which he spoke of the Arboretum’s progress in the past few years; he said it has become an “iconic focal point” for the rememberance of British heroes:“For Britons today, and for generations of Britons to come, the example of dedicating one’s life to helping and protecting others and to the service of our Country remains core to our values as a Nation,” he told the audience.

“Nowhere is this lesson better taught than through contemplation of the names inscribed on the memorials in Staffordshire.‪‪ It is a place of sanctuary for those who come to remember and a place of quiet pride in the selflessness and sacrifice of those who have gone before.  It is also a place of education.”

The duke hopes to help the Arboretum reach its £12 million goal, which will turn the Arboretum into a world-renowned centre for remembrance.
