The Duke and Duchess are renovating a suite of rooms at London’s Kensington Palace, but royal insiders say they are set to move to Scotland when William finishes up with his Anglesey duties in 2013.
While some suspected he might focus more on his royal duties when his post was up, he appears to want to pursue his career further as a military pilot.
According to the Mirror, insiders say William plans to transfer to RAF Lossiemouth.
A senior RAF source said: “Lossiemouth will also give the chance for William to command his own helicopter.”
The Mail reports Scotland could be an ideal location for Britain’s golden couple:
“A move to Lossiemouth in Moray would mean they were conveniently close to the Royal Estate at Balmoral and neighbouring Birkhall where the couple have spent several holidays.”
“They would also be near St Andrews where William has signed up to be patron of the university’s forthcoming 600th anniversary celebration appeal.”
William and Kate met in Scotland at the University of St Andrews.
