Fillion does not just whiten and straighten teeth like a normal orthodontist or dentist, but does what are called “Microrotations.” He attached invisible braces to the backs of certain teeth to rotate and straighten the smile, making it look healthy but not artificial. The perfectly imperfect smile in other words.

The procedure can take between six months and two years. But, a quicker version of the smile can be created through grinding and polishing existing tooth enamel and/or by adding porcelain veneers. The ordeal will generally set a patient back from £4,000 to £11,000.

According the Daily Mail, a friend of Fillion’s, a fellow dentist, told the Times: “You know why they look so good? Because they are not absolutely aligned. The problem in the United States is they have a very artificial vision. He did some little micro-rotations on Kate Middleton [to produce] something which is natural. That is what we like; a natural healthy smile, but not artificial.”
