Prince Harry’s tour of the Caribbean has been going famously, and perhaps it’s because he has finally struck the right balance between fun and formality.
The Prince, known for his wild child ways, has been taking some advice from his brother, according to The Daily Telegraph: “The two Princes have been texting each other and talking on the phone throughout the past week,” a source told the news outlet, “with the Duke giving his younger sibling tips on how to strike the right balance….”
“He spoke at length to his brother before coming out, about how to approach it, and they have been in communication throughout the tour,” said the source. “They have been in touch regularly via mobile and text. The relationship they have full of banter and humour but Prince William is deeply caring of his younger brother and wants his younger brother succeed. He can advise him on how to mix the informality with the dignity of [representing] the Queen.”

Perhaps, the place where William’s advice was most crucial was upon Harry’s meeting with Portia Simpson Miller, the Prime Minister of Jamaica, who aims to remove the Queen as head of state.
Simpson Miller made negative commentary regarding Britain to the BBC just hours before she and the Prince sat down for lunch. It could have been a disastrous meeting, and especially for Harry who is a novice at handling these sorts of diplomatic situations. However, the Prince handled the situation with great finesse; he broke the ice by giving Simpson Miller a hug and kiss upon meeting her.
The two held hands and chatted as if they were the best of friends, not mere strangers: “he really wanted to do the best for his grandmother and for the three countries,” a source told the Telegraph.“What we have seen of Prince Harry is Prince Harry – he is just himself and he has got natural enthusiasm and energy and is someone whose character lends itself very well to this region. He has got a flexible approach to his work and he has got great empathy with people; it’s something he innately has, it’s not something that can be taught.”
Thursday morning, the Prince will attend a beach party at the Sandals Royal Caribbean resort in Montego Bay and later in the day he will depart for Brazil.
