Doesn’t the pretty blue dress that The Duchess of Cambridge is sporting in the pictures above look a bit…no, VERY familiar? Well, it should; Kate re-wore the now iconic Erdem piece, on Saturday, to a friends wedding.

The Duchess originally wore the dress in Canada on a royal engagement, during her first official tour as a member of The Firm. However, this time she wore the piece to attend an altogether more personal affair.

In attendance at the wedding— in the village of Wingfield, Suffolk— were both The Duke of Cambridge and Pippa Middleton.

Prince Harry: His fling with Saturday’s Mollie King

Saturday's singer Mollie King broke the number one rule of dating a royal: she wasn't discreet enough. And now Harry is putting space between them. Photo Credit: WEEN.com Collage work by Elspeth Lodge.

I should comment upon Saturday’s singer Mollie King— or rather explain why I haven’t reported about her and Prince Harry‘s rumored relationship.

Well, it seems to me that King is Harry’s stereotypical fling…

  • Harry picks out a girl that looks a bit similar to Chelsy Davy: tall, thin and blonde (think of his last brief relationship, Florence Brudenell-Bruce). Mollie fits right in with this description.

Florence Brudenell-Bruce's career as a model skyrocketed because of publicity she received while dating prince Harry. And she's still reveling in the afterglow. vogue.co.uk

  • The Prince then has his fun with the girl— until she gets a bit too excited by the publicity that goes with dating a Prince. Both Florence and Mollie started having major success at work because of their associations with Harry, and neither one was shy with the paparazzi. In addition, Brudenell-Bruce and King had friends who were talking to the media…a big problem.

  • After a girl breaks the rules, this is the perfect time for Harry to put space between them… exactly as he did with both Brudenell-Bruce, and, now, according to various sources, King.

While Harry will need a girlfriend who can deal with the spotlight, he CLEARLY doesn’t want one who craves it, judging from his past relationships.

Chelsy Davy is the perfect example of a girl who doesn’t crave the spotlight. In effect, she was able to have a long relationship with the Prince.

As Harry prepares for deployment to Afghanistan and carries out a host of charitable royal duties, it isn’t likely we’ll see a serious girlfriend anytime soon, but rather a series of these ‘King’ and ‘Brudenell-Bruce’ style flings—unless, of course, Chelsy Davy suddenly decides she wants Harry back: “Harry’s texting ten girls at the moment, including his ex, Chelsy,” reports a source to the The Daily Mail. “—Mollie is one of them. Harry likes discreet girls and Mollie seems to be enjoying the publicity a bit too much.”

Last week, King famously took to her Twitter account to announce the status of her relationship with the Prince. And, even though it was to say that she and the Harry were not in a relationship, you can rest assured that just the mention of his name by her (on her own social site) was dynamite to any future they might have had together.

At the London Marathon last week Prince Harry joked that he never seems to be able to find a space in the race, but that William and Kate will run it next year.

The Duchess of Cambridge was clearly ready to tackle questions about her brother-in-law’s jesting commentary to the media, when she attended not just one but two receptions on Thursday.

Kate had the perfect response planned when the topic was brought up by John Ions, Chief Executive of Lionstrust, at Goldsmith’s Hall: “I think William’s going to have to do something to get him back,” Kate told him, People reports. “I’m more of a short distance runner. My sister’s more of a longer-distance runner.”

The Duke and Duchess have made a number of public appearances this week, leading up to a quiet celebration of their first anniversary on Sunday in Scotland. Sadly, it has just been discovered that the water at Birkhall has been contaminated and the royal couple will drink bottled water throughout their stay, reports the Express.

Duke and Duchess show off parenting skills at London reception

Could the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge be getting ready for parental duties of their own?

The royal duo willingly doted over the baby of British soldier Vic Vicary today, at a reception held at Goldsmiths’ Hall in London; it was an event held to honor a group of soldiers who recreated the Scott-Amundsen race to the South Pole, raising funds for the British Legion.

So, who exactly was the adorable newborn dressed in the Superman romper suit? “Hugo Eric Scott,” according to The Daily Telegraph.”His name features tributes to both Mr Vicary’s father who died in March and the famous British polar explorer.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are back from skiing in the French Alps and have stepped onto the red carpet tonight to support a charitable cause.

The premiere of Disney‘s African Cats at BFI Southbank in London will benefit Tusk Trust— an animal conservation charity of which William is a Patron.

The audience at the film was comprised of around 100 children, all from Charities that the William, Kate, and Prince Harry favor.

The royal couple are to celebrate their first anniversary of marriage on Sunday. And, while William and Kate plan to celebrate the occasion in private, there will be plenty of chances to see them in the coming days; they are scheduled to appear at several upcoming events.

Following Prince Harry’s wildly successful solo tour, he has been selected to receive a prestigious award in recognition of his demonstrated support for veterans and serving members of the armed forces: the Atlantic Council’s 2012 Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership.

St. James’s Palace told media that Harry will accept the award on behalf of both The Duke of Cambridge and himself, at a special dinner in Washington D.C.  on May 7.

In an official statement, the Palace says: “Prince Harry will use the award to pay tribute to British and American veterans’ charities for their achievements in helping to rehabilitate wounded servicemen and women and to reintegrate those who have served in the Armed Forces into civilian life.”

A spokeswoman for the Palace told CNN that Harry’s trip to the U.S. will probably last under 24 hours.

The visit to the U.S. comes not long after the Prince took part in his final phase of Apache helicopter training in California and Arizona; the Prince plans to go to Afghanistan for a second stint of service in the near future.

Duke and Duchess to attend Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials this year, say event organizers who have released a public statement.

The decision is an interesting one— given the Duchess has a slight allergy to horses. However, considering Kate’s new roll as an Olympic Ambassador for London 2012, she might be willing to tough out the event; it will  be one of the last chances for eventers to “impress” the Olympic selectors, reports Horse&Hound.

The Duchess will also want to show support to her new family member Zara Phillips: “With the fifth spot in Team GBR very much open, the Duke’s cousin, Zara Phillips, will be hoping to impress with Trevor Hemmings’ High Kingdom, 10th at Burghley last year,” reports Horse&Hound.

The royal couple will watch the final jumping test section before presenting prizes to the successful competitors.
This will not be the first or final time the Duchess tries to overcome her horse allergy.
Kate usually watches William play polo from afar, though, she did attend a charity polo match last year at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club; It was there that the Duchess told a source she is trying to overcome the allergy: “According to Clarisa Ru, wife of Santa Barbara Polo Club president Wesley Ru, Kate has been working on overcoming her allergy,” reported PEOPLE online on July 11, 2011.
“I got a chance to have a conversation with Kate,” Ru told PEOPLE. “I asked if she was into polo before she met William. She said no. But she’s been riding horses for awhile and she hopes to play polo one day. She said ‘I’m actually allergic to them, but the more time one spends with them the less allergic you become.”

Prince Harry greets 32nd Virgin London Marathon runners at the finish line

Royal fans running the London Marathon today were given an extra incentive to cross the finish line — as a cheeky Prince Harry was waiting for the athletes at the end of the grueling 26-mile race.

Ever the jester, the Prince made some commentary to BBC that Clarence House had to clarify to the media was a joke; Harry had told BBC that William and Kate will be running the marathon next year:

“I have been trying to get myself a place for years,” the Prince told BBC News. “I can’t get myself a place. What do you have to do? What’s fantastic is that my brother and his wife will be doing it next year, I think. He’s going to have to now, isn’t he?”

The Prince was at the marathon to present awards to the athletes at the end of the race,  and to support the 150 runners there to raise funds for The Princes’ Charities Forum: “We’ve got a load of people running,” Harry told the media. “—people that have worked with us as well, trying to drag themselves through the 26 miles. It’s all for a fantastic cause and everyone gets to raise their own little bit of money. £50 million or more is going to be raised.”

Was ‘Gungate’ a needed wake up call for Pippa Middleton?

The sister of the Duchess of Cambridge probably won't face legal action after Gungate, but her run-in with the law could prompt her to use far more discretion in public settings from now on. Photograph via Contactmusic.com.

It doesn’t look like Pippa Middleton will face an charges, after an affair coined by many as “Gungate.” However, perhaps Pippa’s run-in with the law in Paris last weekend, has given the sister of The Duchess of Cambridge a desperately needed wake up call.

A friend of Pippa’s told The Mirror: “She came back from Paris in dark glasses and terribly unhappy. She was clearly aware everything was going to blow up. It was really unfortunate it all got caught on camera and video.”

Pippa needs to realize that whether she likes it or not, she is now a highly influential figure GLOBALLY and she must act with discretion— Not only this, but all of her actions reflect back to the British royal family, which puts them in an uncomfortable situation when she makes highly publicized mistakes.

Unfortunately, Pippa does not merit any royal perks— like security or coaching for how to act in public— yet, what she does in her spare time reflects heavily on “The Firm”: “She [Pippa] poses a real quandary for Palace advisers,” a royal source told The Mail. “She is not a royal. She has no security detail, or team of advisers on hand. But at the same time she attracts this huge amount of attention.”

“While there is no official obligation to guide and protect Pippa, the Palace do feel a duty of care towards her,” continued the source. “It’s not her fault she has been thrown into the public gaze. It’s clear that she could continue to find herself in compromising and even dangerous situations.”

Pippa was seen emerging in London a few days ago for the first time since Gungate— And, while Viscount Arthur de Soultrait (whose birthday party Pippa was in Paris to attend) apologized for the incident, Pippa and the royal family have remained silent on the issue thus far.

Below, the Viscount’s statement to the media:

Last Saturday I was in a car with Philippa Middleton, and we were being followed by paparazzi, she had been subject to constant and dangerous harassment by paparazzi throughout her time in Paris. The car was being driven by a friend of mine, whom Pippa had only met a few hours before. As a joke, my friend brandished a toy pistol in their direction.”

Obviously Philippa had no idea that he was going to do that and told him to stop immediately.  She did not find it funny.”

The Viscount’s brother, Marcy, also spoke to the media:

“It was a children’s toy that the driver had in his car. Pippa thought it was funny.

“It is fine in France to do that and the police are not investigating. In France there is no problem, just in England. You English think there is a problem, which is crazy.

“I have spoken with Pippa, she thinks this is all a joke and a funny game. We were just having a laugh. We are funny people, it’s what we do.”

Notice that the two statements contradict each other; while The Viscount says Pippa “did not” think that the man brandishing the gun was “funny,” his brother says she thought it was “very funny.” Interesting.

Pippa Middleton could face arrest after weekend scandal in Paris

Pippa Middleton, sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, might be facing some jail time— as she finds herself right in the middle of a serious gun controversy in Paris amid a gun clampdown.

This weekend, Pippa was riding in an Audi convertible with three male friends, when the driver pulled out a handgun (argued to be fake) and pointed it directly at a photographer.

To make matters more disturbing, pictures snapped by the photographer show Pippa smiling as the event occurs.

Sadly for Pippa, there is little tolerance for these sort of events by French police— especially at this moment— just weeks after seven shootings in Toulous.

A source confirmed to The Sun that if Pippa is proved to be involved she could be prosecuted and sent to jail:

“if the gun was REAL,” said the source, “brandishing it in a public place is punishable by up to seven years’ jail ‘for all parties involved.’” And, “If the evidence points to her involvement, she will be prosecuted. Anybody involved in the illegal use of a handgun in public is liable to arrest and interrogation.”

“Even if it was FAKE,” the source told The Sun, “the maximum jail term is two years.” And, ” Certainly if you were in a car and knew somebody was using a gun to warn people off you’d be liable to arrest.”

There has been no commentary yet from any of the royal family members.

Pippa was in Paris to attend a fancy dress part—the birthday bash of fashion entrepreneur Antoine du Soutrait— the night before the incident.

Click Here to watch Pippa partying the night before the scandal broke; it was a Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette-themed evening, which, according The Mail, included “three dwarves serving champagne and canapes.”
