The Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn, was installed as a Knight of the Thistle in Edinburgh today (5 July), in a service that included prayers, readings, and hymns.
William entered the Thistle Chapel in his ceremonial gown just shy of 11 am, reports the Press Association.
The Queen said: “It is our pleasure that His Royal Highness the Prince William, Earl of Strathearn, be installed a Knight of the most ancient and most noble Order of the Thistle.”
Dean of the Thistle, Rev Gilleasbuig Macmillan, headed the installation ceremony.
