The young bridesmaids, what they wore up the aisle

The young bridesmaids looked beautiful when Maid of Honour Pippa Middleton led them into Westminster Abbey.
The girls wore ivory frocks by bespoke childrenswear designer Nicki Macfarlane and her daughter Charlotte, reports say.
The ballerina length dresses had pleated skirts, puffed sleeves and gold sashes, which St James’s Palace is reporting are made of gold wild silk, says the Mail.
The Mail also reports that the “Mary Jane style shoes,” adorned with Swarovski crystal buckles, were from the Devon-based Rainbow Club.

And, “The bridesmaids’ bouquets by Shane Connolly used flowers from the bride’s bouquet, including lily-of-the-valley, sweet William and hyacinth.”

The hair wreaths that provided a finishing touch to the girls’ outfits were made from lily-of-the-valley, which, reports say, were inspired by the head-dress worn by Kate’s mother at her own wedding.
The fabrics used were the same as used for the brides dress:

“The full, box pleated skirt was used to add a sculptural quality, with the layering of ivory over white satin gazar adding depth of colour. The dresses were hand-finished with delicate English Cluny lace, visible under the skirts, and four layers of net underskirt. The puff sleeves and neckline were trimmed with the same English lace as the bride’s underskirt, while the backs were finished with the same button detail,” reports the Mail.

Each girl had their name and the date sewn into the lining of her dress, reports say.

On another note, Grace Van Cutsem, the goddaughter of Prince William wasn’t too impressed by the roars of the crowd when William kissed Kate  on the balcony:

Look at her face in the picture below— She’s the one with her hands over her ears and the angry look on her face.Reports say she was overwhelmed by the situation— and who wouldn’t be!

The pageboys: who were they, what did they wear at the royal wedding?

The pageboys looked cute in their uniforms and were well behaved at Fridays royal wedding.

They wore Regency-style red tunics of Foot Guards Officers, meant to echo William’s scarlet Irish guards outfit.

The boys also sported the traditional ivory breeches, white stockings and black buckle shoes.

Reports say the jackets have Irish shamrocks on the collars and the buttons are decorated with the Harp of Ireland surmounted by the Crown Imperial.

The  jackets were red with gold braiding and buttons were arranged in fours, representing the Irish – or Fourth., say reports.

The look is completed by a gold and crimson tasselled sash around the waist, usually worn by officers in the Irish Guards when in the presence of a Member of the Royal Family.

The collars and cuffs were created by the Royal School of Needlework.

While there were many young female bridesmaids, there were only two page boys:

Master Tom Pettifer, eight and Master Billy Lowther-Pinkerton, ten .

Master Pettifer is the son of William’s former Nanny Tiggy Pettifer, formerly Tiggy Legge-Bourke. He is also Williams godson.

Master William (Billy) Lowther-Pinkerton is the son of Anthony James Moxon ‘Jamie’ Lowther-Pinkerton, the part-time Private Secretary to William and Harry, reports the Mail.

The very young, very royal

Released this weekend was a list of page boys and bridesmaids for the Royal wedding party to commence in 74 days time. On April 29, the official wedding party at Westminster Abbey will be made-up mostly of children, as royal tradition dictates— And most of the little ones will be of royal lineage.

“Adam Gabbatt, of The Guardian newspaper, said royal marriages tend to include younger people in the wedding party.’It is the tradition to have them quite young and when you look at the spread and where the bridesmaids come from and who their parents are, a lot of them are very close to the royal line,” he told CTV’s Canada AM.’”

A source confided to the Daily Mail that Princess Sophie, Louise’s mother, has been very helpful to Kate, advising her on all the do’s and don’ts of Royal life:

“Sophie and Edward are both really pleased to see how happy this has made Lady Louise,” said a source to the Mail.” She really is the loveliest, kindest, little thing. Edward and Sophie have always been terribly protective of her but she is now at school. They know she is going to have to get used to being in the limelight. And you couldn’t deny her this chance. It is the perfect age to be a bridesmaid – not too old to be intimidated or embarrassed. She is so, so excited and they are all going to look terribly sweet walking down the aisle.”

A royal source said: “Louise is thrilled to be chosen. She is absolutely cock-a-hoop and can’t stop chattering about it. She’ll look absolutely radiant on the day. Her mother is so proud,” reported the Mirror yesterday. Included:
