Prince Harry arrived in Jamaica on Monday via a private jet; he received a 21-gun salute from the Jamaica Defence Force upon landing at Kingston’s international airport, reports the Associated Press. Harry, in a dark blue suit, inspected a military honor guard before being introduced to lawmakers and diplomats on the tarmac, reports AP.

The Prince will stay the scheduled four-days in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, despite Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller’s desire to cut ties with the Queen and move on from Jamaica’s colonial past. On Tuesday, the Prince is set to have lunch with Simpson, which due to the latter could be an awkward affair.

Harry is also set to meet one of the fastest men in the world, Olympic track star Usain Bolt, on Tuesday. There has been banter about the two sharing a friendly race when Harry stops to visit the track where Bolt is trains in Kingston. It will be a special stop for Prince Harry, as he is an Olympic Ambassador for the upcoming London Olympics.

Prince Harry couldn’t resist the opportunity to experience the American highway via motorcycle last weekend, when he had a break from his intense Apache helicopter training course in Gila Bend, AZ.

Always up for a bit of fun and a new experience, he rented a Harley in Scottsdale, AZ., for a reported six-hour ride to Las Vegas.

The prince completed a test drive on a 1600cc bike at the dealership in Scottsdale, before hitting the open road with some friends, on Harley-Davidson Softail Classic.

The Daily Mail reports that the garage, Hacienda Harley-Davidson, hires out this bike for $150 (£95) a day.

An onlooker told the Daily Mail that the prince arrived at the dealership midday on Friday, in a silver Dodge SUV accompanied by a Suburban 4×4:”Harry was in the Dodge with a driver,” said the witness.”The backup car had his bodyguards in it – two big male bodyguards and a tiny girl who looked out of place but who was packing a gun.”

“They drove across the desert, 95 miles, from Gila Bend to Scottsdale, which is where the Harley-Davidson dealership is As they arrived at the Harley shop, a dark-grey metallic SUV turned up which had two more burly guys in it. One of the guys was clearly an experienced motorbike rider as he got on a Harley next to Harry and took off with him.”

In addition, Dan Dvorak of Hacienda Harley-Davidson talked of his experience with the prince to the the Associated Press. Harry appeared at the dealership on Friday in jeans and a baseball cap to rent a bike:”He’s just a regular 27-year-old guy,” Dvorak told AP. “Mild-mannered. Excited to be on a Harley. He definitely knew what he was doing,”

Harry might be on foreign soil, but the motorcycle is not a foreign form of transportation to him; he has a  motorcycle license in the U.K. and his brother, William, is also a huge motorcycle enthusiast.

A friend of Harry’s told the Daily Mail in 2010: “Harry loves his motorbikes and has absolutely no fear – which may, or may not, be a good thing!”

“Both William and Harry enjoy the anonymity that putting on their leathers and taking to the road,” he added.

“No-one knows who they are and in the biking world people just treat them as one of the lads, which they love.”

According to VisorDown, Harry owns a Ducati 848 superbike and William owns owns a bigger version of the 848 Ducati – the 1198 superbike.
