Quite a few high-profile Wimbledon-goers witnessed Andy Murray and Roger Federer fight for the men’s singles title on Sunday.

The Duchess of Cambridge was just one of many notable figures present to cheer on the athletes.

Prime Minister David Cameron, London Mayor Boris Johnson, and David and Victoria Beckham all made the trip to see some fine tennis. As did Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond, actor Jude Law, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour.

The Duke of Cambridge could not be by his wife’s side, but Pippa Middleton stepped in to join the Duchess in the Royal Box.

While it was a disappointing day for Murray and those cheering him on—as Federer prevailed winning his 7th Wimbledon title— the tennis stars provided first class entertainment for the packed crowd.

It was another wedding for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Pippa Middleton this weekend; the three appeared in Somerset on Saturday to attend the nuptials of Alice St John Webster and Gerald Alvenel.

In an interesting twist, two of William’s alleged ex flames, Olivia Hunt and Rose Farquhar, also arrived at St Mary’s Church in Bishop Lydeard for the wedding.

And, to match, Kate had two ex’s present: Henry Ropner and Willem Marx.

However, having their ex’s present probably wasn’t an uncomfortable turn of events for a solid couple like William and Kate, who invited their ex’s to their own wedding in April 2011.

Several of the royal couple’s ex flames were on the guest list: William’s alleged ex Olivia Hunt (Center) and alleged ex Rose Farquhar (Bottom Left). And Kate’s ex’s Willem Marx (Top Left) and Henry Ropner (Left). Photos via Ikon Pictures.

Pippa arrived without a date to the event, but if recent rumors ring true, it’s possible her ex (Alex Loudon) is back in the picture.

The Middleton family traveled down the River Thames on the Elizabethan Sunday, riding behind the Queen as a part of the royal squadron during the Diamond Jubilee Pageant.

Carole and Michael Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge’s parents, and her siblings, James and Pippa Middleton, all partook in the festivities to celebrate the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.

The Middleton family’s invitation by the Queen to take part in the big day caught many by surprise; it suggests recognition by the Queen of the Duchess of Cambridge’s important role within the royal family.

The Queen has issued an invitation to the entire Middleton family (Carole, Michael, Pippa and James) to join the Diamond Jubilee pageant on The River Thames, it was revealed recently. The surprise move by the Queen shows just how much Kate means to the royal family.

Though the Middletons won’t be situated on the royal barge, they will travel behind the Queen as part of the royal squadron on the the Elizabethan, a replica 1890s Mississippi paddle steamer.

“Michael and Carole’s inclusion on the Elizabethan has only just emerged and has taken a lot of people by surprise, but the Queen is incredibly supportive of the Duchess and her family,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“Boats travelling in the Royal Squadron are solely reserved for special guests of the Queen, which demonstrates just how far the Middletons have come.”

Prince Charles’s former valet (Michael Fawcett) has been hired to attend to the Middleton family for the day; this is possibly a result of Kate’s close relationship with her new father-in-law.

After living under the radar since Gungate, Pippa Middleton stepped out today in Scotland to attend the wedding of Camilla Hook and Sam Holland.

Pippa was extremely hard to miss in a red dress and a flower covered facinator. The shape of Pippa’s frock was reminiscent of the Duchess of Cambridge‘s iconic blue Issa engagement dress, a second factor that ensured all eyes were on her.

The former and latter indicate that perhaps the sister of the Duchess is finished lying low.

Doesn’t the pretty blue dress that The Duchess of Cambridge is sporting in the pictures above look a bit…no, VERY familiar? Well, it should; Kate re-wore the now iconic Erdem piece, on Saturday, to a friends wedding.

The Duchess originally wore the dress in Canada on a royal engagement, during her first official tour as a member of The Firm. However, this time she wore the piece to attend an altogether more personal affair.

In attendance at the wedding— in the village of Wingfield, Suffolk— were both The Duke of Cambridge and Pippa Middleton.

Pippa Middleton could face arrest after weekend scandal in Paris

Pippa Middleton, sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, might be facing some jail time— as she finds herself right in the middle of a serious gun controversy in Paris amid a gun clampdown.

This weekend, Pippa was riding in an Audi convertible with three male friends, when the driver pulled out a handgun (argued to be fake) and pointed it directly at a photographer.

To make matters more disturbing, pictures snapped by the photographer show Pippa smiling as the event occurs.

Sadly for Pippa, there is little tolerance for these sort of events by French police— especially at this moment— just weeks after seven shootings in Toulous.

A source confirmed to The Sun that if Pippa is proved to be involved she could be prosecuted and sent to jail:

“if the gun was REAL,” said the source, “brandishing it in a public place is punishable by up to seven years’ jail ‘for all parties involved.’” And, “If the evidence points to her involvement, she will be prosecuted. Anybody involved in the illegal use of a handgun in public is liable to arrest and interrogation.”

“Even if it was FAKE,” the source told The Sun, “the maximum jail term is two years.” And, ” Certainly if you were in a car and knew somebody was using a gun to warn people off you’d be liable to arrest.”

There has been no commentary yet from any of the royal family members.

Pippa was in Paris to attend a fancy dress part—the birthday bash of fashion entrepreneur Antoine du Soutrait— the night before the incident.

Click Here to watch Pippa partying the night before the scandal broke; it was a Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette-themed evening, which, according The Mail, included “three dwarves serving champagne and canapes.”

Jame’s Middleton decorates “Nice Cakes” with naughty slogans

James Middleton’s latest ploy to draw attention to his newer cake business, Nice London, might just cause some serious embarrassment to the royal family; as the brother-in-law to the future King of England, one would think James would have thought twice before releasing a new line on his Nice Cake’s website, which features a host of cakes with naughty, suggestive slogans written in icing.

As the Daily Mail recently observed: “Were they served up at Buckingham Palace garden parties, guests might choke on their cucumber sandwiches.”

The line of cakes, James told the media, “are clearly intended to be humorous and are clearly not intended to cause any offence as is quite obvious. The Great British public is renowned throughout the world for its sense of humour and a cake design is hardly likely to cause it to lose it. We intend to embrace that sense of humour.”

Is Nicky Philipps to paint portrait of the Duchess?

Photo of the Duchess of Cambridge via wtop.com

It’s a well known fact that the Duchess of Cambridge will pose for a painting for the National Portrait Gallery; it is tradition and Kate is also a royal patron there. The question is, has someone else beaten the Gallery to the canvas? Will the Gallery portrait be the first of the Duchess or has the royal family already commissioned someone else to paint her first portrait? Recent news suggests the latter might be the case.

“Swanks at the National Portrait Gallery are putting it about that their outfit will soon be first to commission a portrait of the Duchess of Cambridge,” reports the Daily Mail’s Quentin Letts. However, he suggests this might not be the case; that one of his operatives in London recently spotted the Duchess of Cambridge leaving the London studio of portrait painter Nicky Philipps. As is expected, the studio will not confirm this to the media or that she is working on the portrait.

This would not be shocking or an outlandish accusation though, as Philipps has painted both Prince William and Prince Harry, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland (Good friends of Prince Charles and parents of Pippa Middleton’s close friend George Percy): “She may not be groovy — not edgy enough for bien pensant metropolitans—“ says Letts in his piece, “but in the more discreetly upmarket houses of our kingdom she is regarded as the bumble-bee’s knees.”
